The solution

For over a decade, Innovo’s team of specialists have designed, built and operated their patented electrical RDS, Innodrive. Built for the offshore oil and gas, renewables and communications sectors, Innodrive safely handles and deploys flexible product offshore. The RDS is designed to be installed or uninstalled in one working day on any vessel with sufficient deck space and is modular meaning it can be shipped in standard containers to meet the vessel wherever it needs to be.

The reel is mounted between two symmetrical towers and is controlled from a cabin using a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), erasing maintenance costs and reducing the number of personnel required. Innodrive can transport up to 800T reels in a sea-state of eight with only the hub engaged and without sea-fastenings. Innodrive is therefore not only one of the largest powered reel drives available, but also the most cost-effective.
